From Holocaustmap

The history of the Philips Kommando is noteworthy because Philips' aim was not to profit from cheap prisoners, but to shelter as many prisoners as possible to keep them from being deported to Germany or Poland. There was never any question of any profit motive. A workplace in the Philips Kommando was especially vital for Jews, because in this way they could postpone deportation to the extermination camps.
